Language development is a difficult task. With this new application the days of difficulty are spent.
I can't imagine any foreign language proving insurmountable with ‘Rosetta Stone’ at your disposal.
For example, if a picture is worth a thousand words then the multimedia alone in this software will fuel the imagination on topics from history to language development.
Even the dreaded public speaking experience is made manageable with Student PowerPoint presentation guides. Charts, graphs, reports - they're all covered.
Clear, concise menus and sensible navigation options highlight the importance that Rosetta Stone has given to the ease-of-use of this educational package.
You don't need to be a whizz kid to manipulate the application; anyone should be able to enjoy the learning experience.
The Home Screen is the information centre for the selective course of study. Once the continue button is selected, the program begins its step by step learning or one can explore the lesson activities individually to reinforce learning. The activities in the selected course helps in the mastering of the language and the language skills needed to be successful.
Most often one can complete a pattern of language and images to build in meaning as they build up new words and structures. In some activities the student selects the image that matches a spoken or written prompt to make sure they understand the meaning and the structure of everyday language.
Other activities ask the learner to choose the picture prompt that matches the spoken language or text on the screen. Or there may be a choice between two letters of the alphabet or two grammatical forms to complete a word or phrase. Perfect writing by using your keyboard or the onscreen keyboard to type what is heard or to write new sentences never heard before. Throughout the course the microphone is used to analyze and improve pronunciation of syllables, words and sentences, to practice the pace and flow of everyday language, produce new phrases and sentences on the spot, and to participate in real life conversations without a script in Stone’s Milestones activities. At every step the contextual formation tools provide exactly the context needed to make the right choice. Throughout the course, the Adaptive Recall feature remembers language missed and brings it back until the student masters what they’ve learnt. Along the way, review activities evaluate the students’ mastery of the lesson content to keep them on track.
This software is recommended for both children and adults as the photos are interesting and clear, the speakers are concise and easy to hear. The program is fun and one feels like he is making good progress rapidly.Usually the photos come in groups of 4 or 8 with a general theme. By looking at all the photos as a group, one can usually tell what to focus on in each photo.
